Activities

The activities organised by Surrey ASBAH reflect the wishes of the members and vary accordingly. One day at High Ashurst activity centre, Boxhill, was so successful, that it became an annual event. Members and their families had a go at archery, abseiling, rock climbing and zooming down the zip wire, all under the instructors' watchful eyes. Some just watched the fun and chatted.

In colder months, we have a meal out together at a suitable, accessible hostelry and in the past we have held children's Christmas parties.

All sorts of events can be arranged, large or small. Just meeting up for coffee and a chat can be very worthwhile. Recent events include a trip to the theatre, a picnic and archery sessions.

Surrey ASBAH, being part of a national organisation, enables members to join in a wider range of activities. For forthcoming national events, please see LINK Magazine. Past activities include residential family weekends; wheelchair skills courses and a residential activity week for children in Cumbria.

In September 2008 and 2009 we enjoyed a boat trip on the canal boat Angel Blue which is fully wheelchair accessible. Click here to see the photographs taken on our pre-trip visit. The boat is run by Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development.
